FRANKENSTEIN: THE SOURCE OF ALL FEARS

RESUMEN

En nuestra vida diaria estamos rodeados de múltiples miedos e inseguridades que nos acompañan en nuestro quehacer diario y a través de los cuales vemos la realidad y permitimos que nos vean. Estos miedos nos asustan y es precisamente por reacción a ellos por lo que creamos nuevos mundos y abrimos vías nuevas de conocimiento. La lista es muy larga: miedo al cuerpo, a la vejez, a la tecnología,...Todos estos temores no son algo nuevo sino que tienen sus raíces en el mundo del Romanticismo, origen de muchas de nuestras formas de mirar la realidad. Y qué mejor lugar para encontrarlos que en una de las grandes obras románticas, Frankenstein de Mary Shelley.

ABSTRACT

Everyday we are surrounded by a numerous fears and insecurities. They affect us when we see the reality and even how we are seen. These fears scare us and it is in relation to them so that we create new worlds and open new ways to Knowledge. It's a long list: fear of our bodies, old age, technology,...All these fears aren't new and have its roots in the Romanticism, the origin of many of our ways of seeing reality. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, one of the most important works of Romanticism, it's a good place to find them.
